Papia Chowdhury

Dr. Papia Chowdhury is Professor in the Department of Physics. She has done her M.Sc. from Department of Physics Jadavpur University and PhD Physics (Molecular Spectroscopy) from Indian Association for the Cultivation of Sciences, Kolkata. During her doctoral research period her research interest was on the outcome of photo dynamics of some industrially applicable organic bi-chronophers in different environments including some organized assemblies. After doctoral study she has started research collaboration with various research groups of India and abroad like Indian Association for the Cultivation of Sciences (IACS), Jawaharlal Nehru Centre Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore, BITS, Department of Physics, Department of Botany Guwahati University, Freie University, Berlin, Germany etc. She has also started collaboration with Industry like Hind High Vacuum Pvt. Ltd Bangalore and Bruker India Scientific Ltd, Kolkata etc. Prof Chowdhury has published more than 95 peer reviewed papers in reputed international journals and several papers in international/national conferences. Her publications have received more than 1190 citations. Her h-index is 19 and i10-index is 38 (source: Google scholar). She has organized and attended several international/national conferences/workshops and presented her research work there. She has completed one DST funded project and one DRDO project. She has one ongoing research project from Industry (KFCL)Prof. Chowdhury has refereed for several journals of international repute, e.g., Journal of Physical Chemistry, Chemical Physics Letters, Langmuir, Sensors & Actuators Reports, B, Molecular Physics, Journal of Molecular modeling, Spectro chimica acta etc. She has guided 6 PhD students.
